The Winter weather brings about changes in pest behaviour. Here’s what to look and listen out for:
Rats: Cold weather and lack of food outside can bring rats into your home. They can enter through very small spaces. Listen out for scratching sounds at night.
Mice: Mice are capable of chewing wires and pipes, causing a greater risk of fire for homes and businesses. They can also spread disease, especially in areas where food is prepared and stored.
Cluster Flies: Often found in large numbers and in upper rooms or loft spaces. They also have a habit of returning to the same location year after year unless their numbers are controlled.
Grey Squirrels: Like rats, cold weather and lack of food outside brings them into your home. They can enter through very small spaces have the potential to cause considerable damage to property and electrical wiring. Listen out for scratching sounds at night.
Moles: Moles are most active in autumn, winter and spring, causing damage to lawns.
